Emotional Impact of Photography

I think we can all agree that photographs evoke “emotions”.

Whether it be of a loved, or hated, one, when you look at a photograph you “feel” something. Even imagery of professionals seen by clients on their website can elicit split second judgements based on the imagery that they first see of the professional.

So, what I don’t do as a professional photographer is snap photographs of people, pets or professionals in order to simply record them. I photograph families so that they are seen by either their loved ones as they remember them at their best, with familiar expressions, lighting that flatters them and as quality wall artwork or albums that are placed their home. And, for professionals I guide them so that they represent themselves in the photograph with proper attire, make-up, lighting, props and expressions so that when they are seen by their prospective client, they exude confidence and positivity.

Remember that a portrait holds so much more value than the paper it is printed on. It is an evocative memory of a person, pet or a family. And, an image of a professional is a powerful tool to promote the brand of that person. Call me to talk about your portrait session: 323-466-3909.
