An important life event photographed is priceless

I was invited to photograph a momentous event for a newborn of eight days called a bris. The bris is a Jewish ceremony of circumcision performed by a Mohel who is specifically medically and surgically trained to perform the circumcision. For the Orthodox Jew, the bris is a ritual that marks the covenant between God and the Jewish people, as described in Genesis.

The ritual was performed in the large room at the Nessah Synagogue and after the ritual there was a jubilant celebration for members of the family and guests. All captured in photography for a lifetime of memories. Click on images to see full image. Details on the circumcision are private.
