I’m here to answer any lingering questions that you may have. Of course, you can call me to ask them as well, 323-466-3909.

Can we do makeup ourselves?

It is highly advised to use a makeup artist for your makeup. They know how to do your makeup that is specific for photography. Additional retouching is charged when we need to adjust unprofessional makeup mistakes. When you are investing in a portrait session or professional imagery it is worth spending a bit more on professional makeup for stellar results and to feel confident about your look. And, even, to get a little pampering time before the session.

How does the portrait photography process work?

At Camera Creations Photography, I start with a consultation where we discuss your goals and help you to prepare for the session by advising you on clothing, makeup, props, learning your personal story and intent on doing the session. Then we schedule your session, so you come fully prepared for and ready to have some fun. Finally, we schedule a date for the in person ordering session where we show you images and help you to pick out the best artwork display (wall portraits, albums, and gift prints) for your home.

How does a headshot session work?

We have an initial strategy conversation to learn about how you would like to use your headshots (business owner, corporate, or actor’s headshot) and give you preparation advice (clothing choices, background color, makeup, etc.). Then we do your scheduled session and upload the proof images online for you to select your favorites. Once you select them, we do our retouching magic and they are yours to use for your marketing: website, social media, business cards, online presence, etc..

For weddings do you travel?

Yes, we do travel. Call us for a quote for any location more than ten miles from the studio.

Do I need to make an appointment?

Yes. Since we are a high-end, quality first photography studio, we take time with you through out the photography process. Everything is custom done for our clients. So, an appointment is set in advance which gives you and me time to prepare the vision with great clothing choices, giving you time to get your hair and makeup done, know that you have the right back drop choice for your session, decisions on how to display your artwork complete, etc.

How should I dress?

This depends on the session type, it will be discussed during your initial consultation. For family portraits, we recommend a similar themed clothing without patterns or logos on the clothing so that the expressions and faces are the star of the image. Similar with headshots and personal branding, but here we are looking for clothing that best represents you as a professional.

Is there a changing room available?

Yes, we have a sectioned off area with curtains for privacy and a full length mirror.

Are images saved at Camera Creations Photography?

We hold onto the images for at least one year, but do not guarantee that they will be available after the ordering session due to situations beyond our control (fire, floods, theft, earthquake, etc.). We suggest to complete all artwork purchases at your ordering session to ensure you receive all the images you want.

How long does it take to get my printed artwork once we place the order at the ordering session?

Generally between 2 to 4 weeks for wall prints, 4 to 8 weeks for albums and 4 to 6 weeks for folio boxes.

Can we do different types of photo sessions at once?

As with each portrait specialty different lighting setups are needed. So, time needs to be taken to rearrange the studio and we need to know in advance to allow time to schedule other sessions appropriately. If you would like to do a headshot session in addition to the portrait session we will give you a discount on the second session and ask you to take a break while we re-set the studio.

How long are the sessions?

Headshot sessions are usually one-hour or less. Portrait sessions are usually one to two hours. Personal branding sessions are as long as you and I decide in advance as they often involve many clothing changes and sometimes location changes.

Where can we do our photography sessions?

Sessions can be done at Camera Creations Photography studio, at your home or at a favorite location with proper licensing acquired before our session date, if needed. Many locations in Los Angeles require licensing or permissions to do photography sessions.

Do we own/have copyright on the images taken of us?

The printed artwork, albums and folios are your property. However, if you decide to purchase a digital file you are given license to use the images for your personal use. The photographer always retains copyright on the images for which they take with the click of their finger on the camera. For personal branding and headshots the images are also licensed for personal use, as well as for your promotional purposes. Other kinds of licensing such as commercial licensing can be discussed before the session and would entail an additional fee.

What do you do with the images that we do not choose/reject?

Send them to your mother since she’ll love them all! Only kidding. As state above, we retain them for one year.

For pet sessions:

What if my dog doesn’t sit still?

We have an arsenal of ways to get your pet to sit still and a fast lens to capture an active one.

Can I include more than one pet in the session?

Yes, as long as your pets get along we can make it work with a pre-session consultation.

Do you shoot outdoors, in-studio, or both?

We do both.
