ONE OF THE FAMILY

One of my favorite photography sessions is with, whom many refer to as “our best friend”, a family pet. A pet gives us so much: someone to love and to be loved by, and company during the good and bad times. Never judging us when we fail and always excited to see us when we return home.

So, it goes without saying that our pets deserve to be commemorated in a professional pet portrait session. I recently had the pleasure of photographing Diana Davidson’s, of Westside Dog Nanny, handsome German shepherd, Bailey. Still a puppy of considerable size, Bailey, is sweet, well trained, and easy going.

As with all of my pet portrait sessions, I advise my clients in advance during a consultation as how to prepare their pets for the session, and what items to bring. We take our time at the beginning of the session to let the pet acclimate to the environment before we start the session and once we start the owner is always nearby the pet for safe handling.
